La Vergne, Tennessee

La Vergne, Tennessee is one of the fastest growing communities in Tennessee (and probably in the Southeastern United States). A few short years ago, the population was approximately 9,000. Today, there are more than 25,000 residents who call La Vergne "home" and it continues to grow. This blog is dedicated to keeping our community updated on current events, and serves as a guide for restaurants, entertainment, schools, and more. Welcome to La Vergne!

Stay Safe, LaVergne

We're surrounded by super cells right now that seem to be spawning tornadoes all around us. Stay safe, LaVergne. If you're in a mobile home, seek shelter elsewhere. If you're in a regular home, find an interior room with no windows and bring plenty of pillows and blankets to cover your head. It looks like Dickson County, Gallatin, southern Rutherford County (Eagleville to M'boro area) are being or have been hit hard.

Here's a picture - not sure where it is, but I pulled it off of Channel 5 website.

I've tried to get to the other news channels for photos. The photos on Channel 4 are fairly far from LaVergne, so I passed on those. This is on the Tennessean site as of 4:19 p.m.:

They closed schools early - a decision I agree with. Sounds like thunder all around us so I'm going to post and get the kids in a room. Best wishes, love and prayers. kathy
